On The Night I Cried, Music Was My Remedy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6ajkB_YeSw

In just, more or less, ten minutes, I managed to compose this song. I can't quite remember when it was, but the feeling's still fresh. I can't remember what made my tears fell that night but I remember how my heart pounded, how my ears wanted to hear only melody, how I wanted to scream, how I wanted to be alone, how I could write everything in less than a minute, how suddenly I could press every key I want, how I sing what I felt that night while crying, how I put everything on paper, how numb I was but happened to put it all up, how I just made a love song, and how I am broken.

A love unsaid, a love you never thought you would feel, an unrequited one. For those who loved.. and were broken.. but still have the courage to love... This one's for you.

 STILL WAITING
by Mavee Edar

staring blankly at this corridor
waiting for an answer
waiting for your call
tell me im a little paranoid
but that's the way i feel
and that's what makes it real

refrain:
and so i set aside the question
of what i want
to make a way for what i have to do
coz im a good girl
and that's what good girls do

chorus:
give me a sign so that i wont pretend
give me a reason to stay until the end
tell me if you dont want me in your life
so that i could go and lose my own fight
but im still waiting

you dont know it hurts me so bad
knowing that you have your girl
and i am left
it made me realize how strong i am
for how more long years
should i wait and stand?

(repeat refrain and chorus)

Spanish Class Taught Me That Jejemon Thing

Hola! Yesterday was the resume of our classes and what's crazy about it is that I have two classes of 3 long hours each and dismissal is by 9 o'clock in the evening. Yeah, I know that sounds exhausting. Haha. It's just like my schedule whenever I have rehearsals for theater plays in the theater organization that I'm in. Perhaps, my theater rehearsals are more pressuring than my studies (in terms of time and schedule). Oh I remember again that 3 long hours! I have that feeling that I might feel sleepy in class, or just pretend to listen and doodle my classmates one by one, or even my professor!

Well, what made my yesterday a "day" is my Spanish class. I was excited to take that subject and learn the Spanish language. Actually, I know how to speak a bit in Italian by self-taught. I just bought a book three years ago and I learned it by myself. I have the idea that Italian and Spanish language are nearly the same, that's why I am pretty confident I would learn Spanish easier and I wouldn't have a hard time twisting my tongue to get that European accent. hahahahaa.

What did Spanish Class really teach me? Well, educational enough, it taught me that "jejemon" thing. J in Spanish is pronounced as Jota ("Hota"). The J sounds like H. When Spaniards write a written laughing expression, they write it as "JEJEJE" (sounds HEHEHE) or "JAJAJA" (sounds HAHAHAHA). They laugh normally like we do but it's different when it is spelled.  In short, the jejemon laugh is a Spanish language. I'm not saying that the Spaniards are jejemons. What I mean is that, most jejemons do not know that they are already practicing their language in a Spanish way. Interesting, right? :)

I promise not to miss any of my Spanish class this semester!

        JEJEJEJE... Adios!

From This High School Puppy Love

For the first time, a guy gave me a stuff toy from a “toy machine” - whatever you call it. Basta yung huhulugan mo ng token tapos dadakot ka ng stuff toy. HAHHAAAHA. Cool. :p Okay, I haven't seen this guy for about 5 years. Then this summer of 2010, we coincidentally see each other when I'm at the mall and I'm about to go home from work. Then came the time when we decided to go out (not a date!) together with my best friend. We played games. I never missed to play basketball with him (way back in high school, he's the MVP), and yes, he still scores it high! While my best friend and I were playing a shooting game, he told us he'll be out in a few minutes. When he came back, he gave us both cute stuff toys he got from that toy machine. I enjoyed this night. :)

Bye-oh-Lean!

This is my first ever violin :) I bought this from my musical instructor and I’m currently into learning this stuff. Half of the payment is from my savings.. haha!  I also play piano and guitar that’s why think I’m not only into collecting fashion items but also musical instruments. HAHAHAA..

My Passion: The Art of Communication

It was only in high school when I discovered I have a talent in acting, script writing, performing, and the like. I realized I was molding my brain with creativity and was burning my heart with passion.
What I really want to do is direct. My ultimate dream is to be a stage or film director. I imagine myself making my own independent film or already in that spotlight taking part in a TV program or movie either inside or outside the country. I want to travel and meet new people all the time. It may be fast-paced but it is exciting.

Communication Arts would help me improve on different aspects, learn what I still do not know, discover what I want to see, and do what I believe I can. It will teach me the basics which I must learn first. It will help me improve my skills on public speaking, build-up my self confidence, scribble for creative writing as well, and preparing myself for more handiworks and brain poppers.

Although getting through it is a tough job, I take it as a challenge and opportunity. It is a challenge because I know I won't get it by simply snapping my fingers. It is an opportunity because not all dreamers get what they want. Other students are forced by their parents to take a degree course which is not their cup of tea.

I know it is not a piece of cake but I believe I am on the right track. I get inspired. I make something. There are new experiences. There is chaos but there is triumph of human spirit. I am getting set to be someone and not somebody.

Media "Idol"-ology

Media has greatly affected the audiences from children, to youth, adults and even the old-aged. The television has been giving massive contributions to this generation. They are now spread out even outside our homes. We can see them inside the office, coffee shops, terminals, parlor shops, food courts, and even inside a bus or a private car! The shift of media and media industry over the past few years, into new forms such as DVD and the internet, changes the modalities available for audiences to consume and receive media. These affected how the audiences think and behave. The mass media plays a crucial role in forming and reflecting public opinion. This brought the so called "idol"-ology to the audiences.
The media gives a distinct character or aura and screen name for a particular actor/actress/talent/celebrity (whatever you may call them). These are the first things that they consider before entering them into the world of showbiz to attest that they would be remarkable to the audiences or viewers. For a certain TV program, producers choose talents who are best fit for the role and already known by the mass. Basically, the main characters have the most outstanding identities among the casts. Obviously, they are idols of the mass because of their charm, achievements, talent, professionalism, body figure, looks, star quality -- fame. No wonder they have several TV appearances!

Have you ever wondered why people don't get tired of watching these celebrities every time they switch on their TV? We even get to the point that it's so corny to watch them and that they're rusted on cam over the years. Do you find it silly? This is maybe because of the attachment that these celebrities have brought to their audiences. Their "ooh-soo-cheesy" dialogues, wacky faces, and versatility in the field made the viewers entertained and brought effect on how they would think and behave. It is not impossible that audiences imitate them. This has been prevalent especially to kids.  They are the primary TV junkies because of cartoons, fantasy shows, and the like. Studies show that kids are more active when watching TV because audio-visuals trigger their brains. They idolize not exactly the actor who portrays the role but the persona itself who is part of the story or show. They see them not as actors but as superheroes, great warriors, prince, princess -- exactly what they see on TV.

The media has been providing us the entertainment to its extent. Television can teach and amuse; it can reach aesthetic heights; it can provide much needed distraction and escape. The difficulty arises when people strongly sense that they ought not to watch as much as they do and yet find themselves strangely unable to reduce their viewing. Some knowledge of how the medium exerts its pull may help heavy viewers gain better control over their lives.
